2 New channels added, 2 Channels removed and 2 channels renewed on DD Freedish


DD Freedish recently completed 27th e-auction for vacant slots. In 27th eauction DD Free dish added two new channels, 2 channels renewed its subscription and 2 TV channels left DD Free dish platform due to unsuccessful bidding.


Here are details of 27th auction TV channels.

    9X Jalwa added on DD Freedish

    This is good news that in 27th eauction 9x Jalwa channel won slot on DD Freedish and now it is available on DD Freedish.

    This channel was already fta from NSS6 satellite, but not removed from this satellite and added on GSAT15 satellite.

    This is good news for DD Freedish Direct to home users that DD Freedish conducting 28th online e-auction for vacant slots on DD Freedish DTH platform.

    Interested private TV channels can take part in this e-auction if they want avail their TV channel on DD Free dish platform. To submit applications along with requisite documents and demand drafts on or before 28th July, 2016 (Thursday) latest by 12:00 PM.

    Zee News won the slot on DD Free dish, Now added on DTH Platform

    New Delhi: in last e-auction completed by DD Free dish, only Zee News won the vacant slot on DD Free dish DTH platform.

    Zee News is 24X7 Hindi national news channel by Zee media Corporation Ltd, Zee News recently converted to completely free-to-air (FTA) channel.

    At this time so many premium Hindi news channels available on DD Freedish DTH, including Aaj Tak, ABP News, India TV, IBN7, News Nation & India News. Now Zee News added in this list.

    Zee News has India's No.1 prime time show "DNA" & "Taal Thok Ke" by Sudhir Choudhari & Rohit Sardaana.

    DD Freedish (Prasar Bharati) is going to conduct 29th online eauction for vacant slots available on DD Freedish DTH.

    Interested private TV channels can take part or can renew its annual subscription by this e-auction if they want avail their TV channel on DD Free dish platform. To submit applications along with requisite documents and demand drafts on or before 11th August, 2016 (Thursday) latest by 12:00 PM.

    2 New Channels Won DD Freedish Slot and 6 renewed.

    Recently Doordarshan conducted 29th eauction for filling / renewing slots on DD Freedish, Here is result:

    Total 8 channels have taken part in this 29th e-auction. Where 6 TV channels have retained/renewed their slot and 2 new TV channels won the slot on DD Freedish.
    The below are the details of the eight channels.

    1. Fight Sports (VAA Movies) (New)
    2. APN (New)
    3. Star Utsav (renewed/retained)
    4.  Zee Anmol (renewed/retained)
    5. B4U Music (renewed/retained)
    6. Rishtey (renewed/retained)
    7. Vision TV (Housefull Movies) (renewed/retained)
    8. India 24×7 (renewed/retained)

    About two new TV channels:
    Vaa Movies:
    This is newly launched 24X7 Hindi movie channel, from group of Cinema TV / Naaptol TV network. Very soon this channel will be available on DD Freedish.

    APN News:
    This is 24X7 Hindi satellite TV channel based in Noida, UP. This is channel was already available earlier on DD Freedish but now it has again won the slot. Very soon it will be available on DD Freedish.

    MHRD started 32 education TV channels on DD Freedish

    The Ministry of human resource development (MHRD) already announced that they will start 32 education TV channels before September 2016, Today 32 MHRD test channel added on DD Free dish DTH.

    DD Free dish is India's Free direct to home service, by Indian public broadcaster Prasar Bharati.

    To broadcast 32 TV channels, DD Freedish added two new transponder frequencies in its DTH platform. Now DD Freedish has exclusive 3 transponders frequency for educational purpose only.
    MHRD started 32 education TV channels on DD Freedish

    DD Free dish 30th E-Auction to be conducted on 15-09-2016

    Doordarshan Prasar Bharati going to conduct 30th online e-auction for filling up of DTH slot for the DD Freedish free DTH service of Doordarshan on 15th September, 2016 (Thursday).

    Interested Private TV Channels are requested by Doordarshan to submit their applications along with requisite documents and demand drafts on or before 15th September 2016 latest by 12:00 PM for participation in the e-Auction process.

    Prasar Bharati set the reserve price for per DTH slot is Rs.4.30 Crores, and this e-Auction process will be completed by M/s C1 India Pvt. Limited, Gurgaon.

    All the interested TV channels require submitting up-linking and Down-linking permission from the Ministry of I&B along with the Application.

    Participation amount is Rs.1.50 Crore only, demand draft in favour of PB (BCI) Doordarshan Commercial Service, New Delhi. Processing fee Rs.10,000/- is non-refundable which will be pay demand draft in favour of PB (BCI) Doordarshan Commercial Service.

    Vaa Movies recently won the DTH slot on DD Freedish DTH, now finally it has been added on DD Freedish DTH. Vaa Movies added on slot of TeleShop channel.
    A Vaa movie is brand new Hindi movie channel by Naaptol group. Naaptol group already running its two other hindi movies channels on DD Freedish. Now total four channels available from same network.

    Recently announced with Viacom18 that network going to be launch brand new Hindi POP music channel, this channel will be replace MTV Indies and Xzone TV.

    DD Freedish 30th e-auction completed successfully and renewed 3 TV channels its slots on DD Freedish DTH. TV Channels are IBN7, WOW Cinema, Bhojpuri Cinema.

    The reserve price per slot on Freedish was Rs 4.3 crore (Rs 43 million). Normally, a deal is valid for a period of one year.

    Last eauction held on 11th August 2016, and DD Freedish had added two new channels APN News and Vaa Movies. In same in this eauction six channels renewed its slot on DD Freedish, channels were Star Utsav, Zee Anmol, Rishtey TV, India 24X7, Housefull movies and B4U Music.


    Currently in the DD Freedish, there are 80 channels in across genres like GEC, movies and news. Out of these, 24 are Doordarshan channels while the rest are private channels.

    Prasar Bharati announced 31st e-auction for DD Freedish on 5/10/2016


    Doordarshan will conduct 31st online e-auction for filling up of the DD Freedish DTH slots on 05th October, 2016. Prasar Bharati requested to take part to interested Private TV channels to submit their applications alongwith requisite documents and demand drafts on or before 05th October, 2016 latest by 12:00 PM for participation in the e-Auction process.

    Prasar Bharati is inviting e-Application for Authorization of Set-Top Box OEMs

    E- Applications are invited for and on behalf of Prasar Bharati, Doordarshan for Authorization of STB OEMs in India.

    Prasar Bharati said that original equipment manufacturers filing tenders for this purpose would have to be DD authorized OEMs to sell DD approved Indian conditional access system (iCAS) and firmware/middleware-enabled boxes.
