As you know that Bflix Movies is a free-to-air (FTA) Hindi movie channel that is owned by Pen Studios. Recently this channel shifted from MPEG-2 to MPEG-4 Slot but from 30 April it has left the platform.

Bflix Movies is a free-to-air (FTA) Hindi movie channel that was owned by Pen Studios. The channel broadcasts Hindi movies of Bollywood as well as South Indian films dubbed in Hindi. The Bflix Channel also shows Shri Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan and BR Chopra's Mahabharat in the Bhojpuri language. 

Bflix Movies is a free-to-air (FTA) Hindi movie channel that was owned by Pen Studios. The channel broadcasts Hindi movies of Bollywood as well as South Indian films dubbed in Hindi. Currently, the Bflix movies channel is available on GSAT-30 satellite using a C-band beam.

The Bflix movies participated in Prasar Bharati's 52nd online e-auction for MPEG-2 slots. The channel has successfully won the slot and it is available on DD Free dish from 1st April 2021.

Other new channels like The Q, Cineplex Bollywood, Azaad, Dhinchaak2, Manoranjan Grand, Zee Chitramandir, Aastha, and Sanskar Tv also join DD Free dish from 1st April 2021.

News24 is a 24-hour Hindi news television channel owned by B.A.G Films and Media Limited, based on Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was launched in 2007 and it is free-to-air channel in India. News24 channel changed its logo with a new design in 2019.

Earlier News24 Channel was available in the place of Test Channel 502 or channel number 60 in MPEG-2 mode. But now the channel moved to DD Free dish MPEG-4 slot from 1st April 2021.

Doordarshan cannot re-transmit live matches feed on Cable TV and Private DTH

“As per supreme court order now Prasar Bharati can re-transmit "National Games" only on DD Free dish and DVB-T networks. Same Live match re-transmission feed will not be available for Cable TV and Private DTH services.”

Supreme Court says that Doordarshan (Prasar Bharati) can air live sport feed from private broadcasters only on DVB-T / DVB-T2 (terrestrial networks) and DD Free dish DTH. But Doordarshan cannot run same live sports feed on private DTH platforms and Cable TV networks.

The case was filed in 2007 by Nimbus Communications Ltd and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to resolve this issue. After that Star India Pvt. Ltd and ESPN Software India Pvt. Ltd intervened in the case in 2013. So finally private sports broadcasters including Star won the case and from now as per SC decision, Doordarshan can broadcast live matches only on DD Free dish and terrestrial networks.

Before, any cable TV and DTH users could watch live matches on Doordarshan TV without any subscription. It is big loses to these sports channels.

Well, it is also good news for DD Freedish viewers that they can still watch live matches on DD National network continuously.
DD Freedish is free DTH service by Prasar Bharati which can be installing by using a freetoair set-top box and normal DTH antenna.

Recently Prasar Bharati Invited applications from Private broadcasters to fill Freedish MPEG-4 slots using the 60th e-Auction.

Recently Prasar Bharati Invited Applications from Private broadcasters to fill up DD Free dish's vacant MPEG-4 slots. Interested Private broadcasters can add their TV channel on the DD Free dish platform to reach a wide area in India.

You can check the list of e-auctions and upcoming TV channels here.

These slots will be filled by using a pro-rata basis for the period of 5th July 2022 to 31st March 2023. Details available  at http://fdslots.prasarbharati.org

As you know every year DD Free dish renewed its MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 slots from 1st April. So every channel is valid on Free dish till 31st March. You can result of the 60th online e-auction here.

Recently Prasar Bharati Invited applications from private broadcasters using the 61st online e-auction to add their TV channels to the DD Free dish in the MPEG-2 slot. This auction was completed on 10th August 2022. here you can find a list of winner TV channels.

Notification - 61st e-Auction Results Declared - Check Now

Prasar Bharati Invited applications for allotment of vacant MPEG-2 slots of DD Free dish on a pro-rata basis. The 61st e-Auction will be held on 10th August 2022.

Winner TV channels will be available on DD Free dish MPEG-2 slot from 17th August 2022 to 31st March 2023.

Which TV channels can Apply? -

National and International Private TV channels can apply if they are permitted by the Ministry of I&B. 

Why MPEG-2 Slot?

DD Freedish still using MPEG-2 Slot using DVB-S. These TV channels can be received using any free-to-air set-top box available in the local market.
